HIBRIA reaches its 5th studio album, with the self-titled “HIBRIA”, sounding different from the previous ones, although with a lot of the “old” style of the band and showing an evolution, which should reach new fans.
Opening the work we have the track “Pain”, which is typically “HIBRIA”, fast, once cadenced and with the already known vocals of Iuri Sanson, the music flirts between melodic and traditional metal, and, in addition, they had the audacity to add Sax and Trumpets giving a special touch to the sound.
The next one is “Abyss” with a drum beat and great bass, highlighting the instrumental part in general that sounds cohesive and intertwined. The third track is “Tighthope” heavy in a way, but the album sounds less heavy than the previous ones that the band has already made, returning to the sound, it is pure melodic metal, I highlight the great evolution of Iuri as a vocalist, fitting his voice in the proposal of music and not just with his highs from the beginning of his career.
“Life” is the fourth track, a pseudo-ballad, cadenced and orchestrated, it is a new HIBRIA, albeit with many classic characteristics. Following we have the lively “Ghosts” with a Hard Rock feel, which sounds very good live.
The sixth track on the album is the mid-time “Legacy” with its only 2:25, fast and direct, great for the crowd to bang, as well as the next title, “Ashamed”, which starts very heavy, great for causing a stiff neck.
The eighth track is “Church” with a little bit of the lead from the beginning of the album, we have here a beautiful guitar solo and very well done choirs, a typical traditional metal song.
“Fame” starts dragged and cadenced, we have in this track the pleasant participation of vocalist Mia Coldheart (CRUCIFIED BARBARA) who is practically a female version of Iuri, due to some similarity with the timbre of their voices.
Closing we have “Words”, with the elements that were presented throughout the album, great drums, striking riffs and well-made solos, in addition to Benhur accurate on bass and vocals and Iuri on lead vocals.
